시대물우키요조시에서의 병학자의 인물조형 고찰 ― 『구스노키산다이오토코(楠三代壮士)』를 중심으로 ―
본고에서는 교호(享保) 5년(1720)에 간행된 에지마 기세키(江島其磧)의 하치몬지야 본(八文字屋本) 우키요조시(浮世草子) 작품 『구스노키산다이오토코(楠三代壮士)』의 인물조형의 특징에 대해서 고찰하였다. 『구스노키산다이오토코』에서는 혼사와 관련된 무사로서의 신의, 주군을 지키기 위 한 충의, 부모의 원수를 갚기 위한 효심, 출세의 야망을 이루기 위해 영지를 찬탈하려 는 음모의 이야기가 유기적으로 결합하여 하나의 스토리로 전개되고 있는데, 각각의 에피소드를 새롭게 창작하기 보다는 실제 있었던 사건이나 기존의 작품의 취향을 조 금씩 바꾸고, 등장인물도 실제사건의 인물명을 살짝 비틀어 인물조형을 하고 있는 것 이 특징이다. 특히 병학자(兵学者)의 인물조형에 『게이안다이헤이키』의 ‘유이 쇼세쓰’의 이미지 를 그대로 차용하고 있으며, 그 특징은 천운을 파악할 수 있는 능력과 이를 통해 미래 를 점치는 점술능력을 병학자의 조건으로 묘사하고 있다. 병학자 이외에도 중매를 알선하는 의사가 등장하여, 의술보다는 생활의 방편으로 중매를 알선하며 생활하는 돌팔이의사(薮医者)의 모습을 묘사하고 있는 등 하치몬지 야본 우키요조시의 특징 중 하나라 할 수 있는 ‘가타키모노(気質物)’의 인물조형의 방 법을 볼 수 있다. 즉 본 작품은 하치몬지야본에서 본격적으로 가타기모노가 유행하기 전에 간행되었지만, 가타기모노의 특징을 이미 곳곳에 포함하고 있는 작품이라고 평 가할 수 있다.

A Study on the Character Modeling of Warrior Scholars in Jidaimono-Ukiyo-joshi : Focusing on Kusunoki Sandai Otoko
In this study, an attempt was made to look at Kusunoki Sandai Otoko, a work of Hachimonjiya edition Ukiyo-joshi published in the 5th year of Kyoho by Kiseki Ejima. I have examined the characteristics of character modeling in the Three Generations of Kusunoki Warriors. In Kusunoki Sandai Otoko, the story of fidelity as a samurai related to marriage, loyalty to protect the lord, filial piety to avenge parents' enmity, and plot to usurp the territory (fief) to achieve the ambition of success are organically combined and developed into a single story. However, rather than creating each episode anew, it is characterized by gradually changing the tastes of actual events or existing works, and the characters are also characterized by slightly twisting the name of the person in the actual event. In particular, the image of Yui Shosetsu in the Keian Uprising (Keian Daiheiki) is borrowed as it is for the character modeling of Warrior scholars. Its characteristics describe the ability to grasp heavenly fortune and the ability to foretell the future through it as conditions for Warrior scholars. In addition to Warrior scholars, we can also see the Katagimono way of character modeling, one of the characteristics of Hachimonjiya edition Ukiyo-joshi in the appearance of doctors or quack doctors who arrange matchmaking as a way of life rather than medicine.
