한일 웹소설 인트로의 비교연구 ─ 웹소설에서 찾는 한일 젊은이의 사회인식 ─
본 논고는 스토리텔링의 최전선에 있는 2010년대 이후 한국과 일본의 웹소설의 서사, 특히 인트로(Intro)의 차이에 주목하고자 한다. 2010년대 후반 현재의 형태를 띠게 된 한국과 일본의 웹소설은 주요 타깃인 청년층의 니즈를 투사하고 있으며, 미디어의 차이로 인한 텍스트 호흡의 변화, 화수 개념의 도입, 유저친화성의 강조라는 측면에서 기존 소설과 다른 측면을 지닌다. 한일 웹소설의 공통점과 차이점을 탐구하기 위하여, 본 논고에서는 카카오페이지와 ‘소설가가 되자’의 주요 작품의 인트로를 각 50건씩 체크리스트법을 활용하여 분석하였다. 분석 결과 한국의 웹소설은 다양한 스펙트럼을 지니고, 현실과 가까운 공간에서 ‘사이다’ 이야기를 진행하는 반면, 일본의 웹소설은 이세계에서 이뤄지는 연예나 모험물 등의 소재로 스펙트럼이 좁고 현실로부터의 ‘탈출’을 보여줬다. 또한 한국 웹소설의 경우 ‘회귀’나 ‘기연’을 통한 ‘리셋’을 꿈꾸는 반면, 일본 웹소설은 ‘이탈’을 통한 ‘복수’와 ‘연애’를 꿈꿨다. 본 논고는 한국과 일본의 웹소설의 차이가 장르나 유행을 넘어 웹소설의 주요 독자인 한국과 일본 젊은이층이 마주하고 있는 사회 현상에 따른 인식 차이에 기반하고 있다고 제안하였다. 이러한 연구결과는 웹소설이 청년 세대층의 사회 인식을 담는 이야기-하기의 도구이자 문화콘텐츠로서 사회를 투영하는 도구로 활용된다는 것을 보여주며, 웹소설이나 웹툰 이해관계자가 자신의 콘텐츠를 사회에 대한 자신의 의미를 재생산하는 도구로 사용할 수 있다는 점을 증명한다.

Comparative Study between the Intros of Korean and Japanese Web Novels : The Youth's View on Societies through Web Novels
The article focuses on the narratives of Korea and Japan’s web novel from the 2010s. Recently, Korean’ ‘websoseol’ and Japanese’ ‘web novel’ are projecting the needs of youth people, mainly their primary target. The web novels were made different from existing stories by changing their tone, dividing them into episodes, and emphasising user-friendliness. The current work analysed 100 intros from ‘kakaopage’ and ‘Syōsetsuni narō’ novels. The result shows that the web novels of Korea had various spectrums and showed ‘cider’ (refreshing) stories. However, the web novels of Japan had a narrow scope and led to ‘escape’ from reality. Also, the Korean web novels dreamt of ‘reset’, by ‘chance’ and ‘return’. By contrast, the Japanese web novels dreamt of ‘revenge’ and ‘romance’ by ‘breakaway’. The current study found the difference in meaning between Korean and Japanese youth’s social phenomenon recognition and their story-telling through Korean and Japanese web novels. The result implied that the cultural contents, including web novels, could be analysed to reflect the society and reproduce the meaning, while the stakeholders of webtoon and web novels utilise their work to decipher new meaning.
