World Literature as a Methodology to Consider Literature of Kim Sok-pom
제주4･3사건과 해방공간을 시공간적 배경으로 삼아 그 혼란기에 간고한 삶을 살아간 인간군상을 그려낸 김석범의 일본어소설 『화산도』는 2015년 완역되며 발견된 공백의 한 국문학 혹은 제주문학으로도 읽히게 되었다. 하지만, 김석범 문학을 비롯한 한민족의 문 학은 단순히 민족문학/국민문학/지방문학과 같은 미시적인 범주 안에 갇히지 않고, 다중의 범주를 넘나드는, 월경을 추동하는 힘을 내포한다. 따라서 이러한 김석범 문학을 정독하 고 깊이 있게 사유하기 위해서는 김석범 문학에 작용하는 다원의 범주와 김석범의 표현 언어로서의 ‘일본어’를 검토할 필요가 있다. 구체적으로는 재일조선인문학/디아스포라 문 학/일본어문학이라는 범주를 범박하게 제시하며 그 범주 안에서 김석범 문학이 어떠한 위 치에 있는지 검토한다. 또, ‘김석범 문학은 세계문학이다’라는 선언적 명제에 대해, 구체 적으로 세계문학이라는 관점에서 어떻게 김석범 문학을 사유할 수 있을지 고찰한다. 그렇 다고 해서 세계문학에 관한 담론들을 정면에서 검토하고자 하는 것은 아니다. 다만, 민족 문학/국민문학/지방문학 혹은 재일조선인문학/디아스포라 문학/일본어문학이라는 범주에 수렴되는 동시에 이를 탈구축하는 김석범 문학의 다원성과 순환성을 검토하기 위한 들여 다보기의 방법론으로서 세계문학이라는 관점은 유효하기 때문에, 몇몇 세계문학론을 원용 하며 김석범 문학에 내포된 세계문학으로서의 지표를 도출해보고자 하는 것이다. 본 논문 은 이러한 논의를 통해 김석범 문학을 읽고 논하는 것의 의미와 관점을 제시할 것이다.

김석범 문학을 사유하는 방법론으로서의 세계문학
Hwasando(Kazantō/The Volcanic Island), a Japanese novel written by Kim Sok-pom to illustrate the different kinds of people who suffered hardships during the time of chaos caused by the Jeju April 3 Incident and liberation space, was fully translated in 2015 and became regarded as Korean literature or Jeju literature. However, the literature of the Korean race, including Kim Sok-pom’s literature, contains the driving power that crosses various categories instead of being trapped in micro categories like ethnic literature, national literature, and local literature. Therefore, the category of plurality acting on Kim Sok-pom’s literature and the ‘Japanese language’ used by Kim Sok-pom need to be reviewed to read intensively and think deeply about Kim Sok-pom’s literature. In specific, this paper proposes a wide frame embracing Zainichi Korean literature, Diaspora literature, and Japanese language literature to review where Kim Sok-pom’s literature is placed within this frame. In addition, this paper specifically discusses how Kim Sok-pom’s literature can be considered from the perspective of world literature regarding the disjunctive proposition that ‘Kim Sok-pom’s literature is world literature.’ This paper does not intend to examine discourses on world literature upfront. However, the perspective of world literature is valid as a methodology for reviewing the plurality and circularity of Kim Sok-pom’s literature, which converges with and breaks away from the categories of ethnic literature, national literature, and local literature or Zainichi Korean literature, Diaspora literature, and Japanese language literature. This paper attempts to cite several world literature theories and derive world literature indicators in Kim Sok-pom’s literature. By doing so, this paper presents the meaning and perspective of reading and discussing Kim Sok-pom’s literature.
