『조선풍토가집(朝鮮風土歌集)』의 북한 지역에 관한 일고찰 ― 평안도와 함경도를 중심으로 ―
본 논문은 1935년 간행된 『조선풍토가집(朝鮮風土歌集)』을 대상으로 지금까지 고찰된 바 없었던 북한 지역, 그중에서도 ｢평안도･함경도｣ 편에 수록된 단카를 분석하고 재조일본인의 ‘북조선’에 대한 인식 및 표상을 도출하여 공백 지대가 존재하는 ‘조선색’을 보완하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 일제강점기 북한을 소재로 한 문예물이 존재하긴 했지만, 『조선풍토가집』은 한반도 최대 단카집으로 다수의 가인들이 참여하여 단카를 창작하였기 때문에 다양한 층위의 목소리가 존재하며, 조선의 풍광, 조선인, 문화 등 다방면에 걸친 정보를 확인할 수 있는 장점이 있다. 그동안 이 가집에 대한 연구는 경성, 경주라는 주요 도시와 풍토를 키워드로 한 분석이 이루어졌는데, 조선의 특수성을 규정하고자 하는 이 가집의 창간 목적에 부합하기 위해서는 상당수의 단카가 수록된 북한 지역을 시야에 넣어 고찰할 필요가 있다. 그동안 조선의 풍토나 조선색을 논하고자 할 때 빈번히 거론돼 온 민둥산, 온돌, 기생 등은 ‘북조선’ 관련 단카의 경우 해당하지 않거나 거의 언급되지 않기 때문이다. 즉 ‘북조선’의 특수성과 이에 대한 재조일본인들의 관심은 ‘남조선’의 것과는 확실히 다른 측면이 있다. 평안도와 함경도를 읊은 단카를 분석한 결과, 재조일본인들은 조선인의 생활상보다 자연, 고대 회화, 고적에 관심이 많았고, 산업･군사기지로서 활용도가 높은 지역으로 인식했음을 알 수 있었다. 이는 내지인들을 위한 관광과 연결되는 측면이 있고, 또한 대륙 진출을 위한 잠재성이 큰 지역으로 간주했던 것으로도 파악된다.

A Study of North Korea in The Joseon natural features Tanka anthology : Focused on Pyeongan-do and Hamgyeong-do
The purpose of this paper is to supplement the color of Joseon through analysis of tanka in Pyeongan-do and Hamgyeong-do by deriving the Japanese perception and representation of North Korea, which has not been studied in The Joseon Natural Features Tanka Anthology published in 1935 until now. The Joseon Natural Features Tanka Anthology is the most significant Tanka anthology focused on the Korean Peninsula. To meet the purpose of publishing The Joseon Natural Features Tanka Anthology, which aimed to define the unique nature of Joseon, studying the North Korean area which contains a considerable number of tanka is necessary. This is because the peculiarity of North Korea and the interest of the Japanese in it are certainly different from that of South Korea. The analysis showed that the Japanese were more interested in nature, ancient paintings, and place of historical interest than the lives of the North Koreans. They consider North Korea as area of high utilization and utilize it as industrial and military base. This is connected to tourism for the Japanese, and they also considered the region having great potential for continental expansion.
