植民地朝鮮における日本語怪談書籍の考察 - 日本語･朝鮮語メディアでの日本語怪談書籍をめぐる文化的交渉を中心に -
본 연구는 일본의 괴담이 식민지의 조선사회와 어떤 방식으로 교섭했는지에 대한 문제를 다루고 있다. 1920년에 『동아일보』가 출간된 이후, 잇따라 조선어문화잡지가 다수 출판되었다. 반면, 1920년대는 조선총독부의 문화정책이 실시되었던 시기이기도 했다. 이처럼 1920년대의 조선사회에는 일본어와 조선어가 뒤섞인 미디어 환경이 성립되어 있었다. 당시의 일본에서는 근대에 도입된 새로운 학문인 심리학, 민속학, 정신의학에 의해 ‘괴기’나 ‘귀신’, 또는 ‘미신’적인 일들이 대중들의 큰 관심대상이 되었다. 이 움직임은 1920년대 후반, 많은 괴담 관련 서적을 생산했다. 이러한 서적은 식민지 조선에 유입되었고, 신문에서도 일본 괴담서적에 대한 홍보가 대대적으로 이루어졌다. 총독부 도서관에도 괴담･괴기의 관한 책들이 비치되었다. 문화정책의 시정에 따라 ‘괴담’이나 ‘전설’처럼 민족적 특징을 가진 장르는 문화적 가치를 지닌 것으로 중요시되었다. 그러나 이러한 정치적 배경과 무관하게 일본대중오락문화의 여파는 일본어 괴담서적을 통해 직접적으로 조선사회로 퍼져 나갔다. 이들 일본괴담은 결코 일방적인 형태로 수용된 것이 아니라 조선인의 새로운 시각을 통해, 다시 조선 민중을 향해 재발신되었다. 당시 괴담은 두 민족의 문화와 언어 공간 속에서 서로 복잡하게 엇갈려 새로운 해석과 재생산을 반복한 것이다.

Study of story books about ghosts in Japanese in Colonial Korea : Focusing on cultural negotiations over Japanese ghost stories in the Japanese and Korean media
This study examines the acceptance of “ghost stories” by Japanese authors in colonial Korea. In the 1920s when Korea was under Japanese rule, The Cultural Policy of the Japanese Government General of Korea was implemented. During this period Korean and Japanese culture interacted in various forms. On the other hand, in modern Japan, Psychology, Folklore, and Psychiatry have created a view of the new “strangeness.” This movement produced many books containing “ghost stories” in the late 1920s. These books were circulated in the colonial Chosun, and Japanese ghost stories were passed on to the Chosun society. The newspaper advertised a book about Japanese ghost stories, which were also found in the Library of the Japanese Government General of Korea. The Japanese government approached a rich ethnic color such as ‘legend’ or ‘ghost story’ for political purposes. Regardless of this intention, however, the aftermath of the Japanese mass entertainment culture has spread to the Chosun society more directly through the book of Japanese ghost stories. As a conclusion, the exchanges of ghost stories between Japan and Korea were held in two languages and culture spaces, which was a very complicated interpretation space.
