This study investigated the linguistic characteristics of “feminine” and “masculine” in an utterance, and the origin of the factors that divide the gender factor in the Korean and Japanese languages. The perception of these gender differences by speakers of both the Korean and Japanese languages was studied, together with the linguistic characteristics of the introduction of gender and the way in which speakers are reminded through cognitive research using chat conversation as the source material. According to the results of the survey, gender is divided according to “repetitive expression,” “response form,” “dialect,” “additive type,” “morphological variation,” and “emoticon and punctuation code.” This study has shown that femininity is manifested in language expressions and markings that reveal abundant expressions of emotions and the notation, which is abundant, and awareness of the difference in masculine language, which meant monotonous language expressions and markings with less emotional expression. Regarding femininity, in the case of the Korean language, it was observed that it has been expressed in the form of softness and an atmosphere of dialogue, whereas in the case of Japanese, it was possible to observe femininity in the act of “decorating” their language expressions or visually expressing softness.
